Audi South Africa announced last week that the Audi RS3 Sportback and Sedan are available on sale in limited numbers after disappearing all together from the showrooms radar. The next generation RS3 is set to be revealed in moments time so it was only fair to wrap up the production of the current model by giving South Africa the last taste of genuine compact RS performance models.
Quick reminder, the RS3 is powered by an award-winning 2.5-litre turbocharged 5-cylinder engine that produces 394 hp (294 kW) and 480 Nm of torque. The power is shifted on a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends it to all four-wheels via the Quattro system. That means it can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in a quick 4.1 seconds whilst topping at 250 km/h but you can take it up to 280 km/h when you select dynamic package.
The prices have increased due to the limited number of units coming to SA and also the pandemic that is affecting all the prices of consumable products. The RS3 Sportback costs R1 019 500 and the RS3 Sedan costs R1 029 500.
Several months ago, Audi announced that various RS models will come to SA and that includes the RS5 facelift, RS6 Avant, RS7 Sportback and RSQ8. However, the TT RS disappeared but it is also coming back to SA and will be on sale in the next coming weeks.
