New photos have surfaced online which appears to be the next BMW 2 Series Coupe without any camouflage at all. The first thing you notice is that the design is so much different from the 2 Series Gran Coupe with a much smaller headlight and taillight design. The kidney grille will not be as preposterously huge like on the upcoming BMW 4 Series. The one shown on the picture seems to be the range-topping M240i with trapezoidal exhaust pipes like you get on the current BMW M40i models.

I don’t like this design at all and I’m afraid to say I prefer the 2 Series Gran Coupe over this. Maybe I should not judge it too early because this is just a leaked image but then most of the time the headlights determine half of how good looking a car is and I am not sure about those buggy lights.

The M240i should be equipped with the B58 3.0-litre turbopetrol straight-six engine which produces a satisfying 382 hp (285 kW) & 500 Nm of torque. Our hopes are high that it might come with rear-wheel drive as standard and four-wheel drive as an option. The M2 should be revealed after the 2 Series Coupe’s unveiling.
