The bespoke brand that is “Hofele” has just revealed its first-ever HEQC edition which is based on the Mercedes Benz EQC electric SUV. They were planning to reveal all five models at the Geneva International Motor Show but unfortunately, it was canceled in fear of the COVID-19 Coronavirus disease that is currently continuing to spread. Anyway, the Hofele EQC is a way of showing that bespoke treatment can still be brought to EV’s, acknowledging that this type of special modification will still carry on in the future.
Firstly, I will mention the specs of the Mercedes Benz EQC, which is in definition, not the first electric car that Mercedes Benz has produced but the first EV that forms part of the Mercedes Benz electric “EQ brand”. It is powered by an 80-kWh lithium-ion battery with two electric motors, one driving the front axle and the other on the rear axle, essentially equipping it with 4Matic All-Wheel Drive. It produces 402 hp (300 kW) and 765 Nm of torque and can do 0-100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds.
The exterior of the EQC has been propped and mildly modified, adding on subtle changes to the front end, side profile and rear end. Hofele added its signature Panamericana grille and on the EQC, it has black sharp lines with a chrome surrounding and the Hofele emblem. The wheels have been forged in a “Turbine” style, finished in dark shadow chrome. The exterior design of the EQC is, of course, futuristic but Hofele has gone for the contemporary, modern look that it knows that its customers will appreciate.
When you stop drooling over the outside of this car, be careful that you don’t let your saliva drip on the interior seats when you decide to step inside because it looks absolutely magnificent. The interior is already amazing on the normal EQC with a widescreen-effect which are two joint screens with one operating as the digital instrument cluster and the other as an infotainment touchscreen with the latest MBUX System.
Hofele went on and amped up the luxurious materials by using Amargnac Leather amongst other types of leather material you can choose from. There is Alcantara lining on the roof and on some parts of the door. The steering wheel has been wrapped in leather, the seats have a diamond pattern stitching and on the dash, the incredible leather stitching design continues and that shows the attention to detail of Hofele’s craftmanship.
It will be up to you on how you will spec your special Hofele EQC that will be in-line with your taste. There are still more models that Hofele will be releasing as time goes by. However, this EQC was the first to be launched signifying where Hofele is heading from 2020 and beyond, and that is creating the best bespoke future Mercedes Benz EVs.
