Just quite recently, Audi was talking about adding 20 new models by the end of 2020 and it seems like they are exploring every possible angle to introduce a refreshed new model. Now they have unveiled a rather sexy looking baby Q8 and that is the Q3 Sportback. This is based on the Q3 SUV which will be seeing it locally later this year. This can only mean that Audi is starting to get used to the SUV Coupe segment and want to see how the market will respond to their latest offering.

What makes the Audi Q8 distinctive from other German SUV Coupes is that the rear roofline is not lowered that much and it has made the rear be sculpted beautifully, plus you get frameless doors. The Audi Q3 Sportback just looks even sleeker with the roofline on the back end lowered by 30 mm and yes that has sacrificed a bit of luggage space but for style, it’s worth it. The rear has received some unique design elements with a raised rear bumper and a slightly flattened rear window.

Some people think that it wasn’t necessary for Audi to even consider this type of car but remember that there is a market for these kinds of cars. The BMW X2 is doing well and many like its appeal, so I think Audi played their cards just right.

I like the looks of this Audi and if I had the money, I would definitely go for it. There is just something that makes it attractive to the eye and even if many people don’t appreciate its existence, they will immediately change their minds when they get to see it in the metal.

The Audi Q3 Sportback will come with two engines and one is a punchy 2.0-liter turbopetrol engine with 169 kW & 350 Nm and one is a fuel-efficient 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine with 110 kW & 340 Nm of torque. All engines are mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. This is just two perfect engine choices but I’m sure more will be announced shortly.

You will get a variety of tech features in the Q3 Sportback such as a 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit screen and a 10.1-inch Audi MMI touchscreen. Leather seats will be offered as standard coupled with other comfort features. The boot space has decreased but is still reasonable with 530 liters of luggage space which should do the trick.

It is set to arrive in early 2020 and will join the Q3 SUV as an option for a sportier look. This Audi has to be seen live by people so that they can properly judge it but as for me, I am fully satisfied with the design.
