There is one car manufacturer that has been on a car release frenzy this year and that is none other than the German maker from Stuttgart, Mercedes Benz. They announced that all of their cars in their line-up will have a successor by 2021 as their new design language will take over and make them the class-leading automotive maker. Mercedes Benz is undoubtedly the most underrated car maker in terms of luxury and technology, and they keep being the best with their jaw-dropping interior and subtle clean looks. Here are some Mercedes Benz models to look out for in the coming months.
Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 S
The new GLS was revealed back in April and we just love the improvements in design and how it became bigger than its predecessor, featuring new tech and a blend of S-Class in an SUV. Now that the job of designing it is done, it’s now time to hand it over to the boys at Mercedes-AMG to give it more grunt and power. The outgoing Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 uses a 5.5-liter V8 engine with 577 hp and that’s great but Mercedes-AMG might opt to put the 4.0 liter V8 in the current GLS and boost it to more than 600 hp. That also helps with fuel efficiency and power response. This SUV might be revealed later this year.
Mercedes Benz GLE AMG & GLE Coupe
The GLE Coupe is yet to be revealed soon to replace the current GLE Coupe which I don’t like in any shape or form. The next-generation GLE 63 S AMG will have a 4.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8 that will chunk out more than 580 hp and deliver an exquisite 0-100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds or even less. The GLE 63 S AMG should be fast enough with the new updated 4Matic+ drive system which puts the power down very effectively as seen on the E63 S AMG which can do 0-100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. The GLE Coupe is set to compete against the new BMW X6 whilst the GLE AMG models will go against the upcoming X5 M and X6 M.
Mercedes Benz C-Class
Mercedes Benz is taking their time with this one and they don’t want to rush it as they want it to be perfect enough so it can properly take on the excellent BMW 3 Series G20. This particular C-Class will be revealed sometime next year and it being the best selling Mercedes Benz model, it must be in tip-top shape to be a serious competitor in its segment. Since the W205 C-Class was revealed back in 2014, it rewrote the rules of having a super stylish car in its segment and that made its competitors look so boring. Now though, everything has changed and the competition is getting quite tough, we’ll just have to see how the new one will be able to recover its glory days.
Mercedes Benz E-Class Facelift
The next-generation E-Class has not yet been announced nor spotted but quite recently the facelift has been seen testing with less camouflage meaning it is in its final testing stages and will make its public debut very soon. The E-Class will come as the sedan, coupe, and convertible. It will also feature an E63 S AMG facelift that will come with new various techs but I’m sure the power output will remain the same. The E-Class has always been a favourite and the way it looks it’s just eye-catching. I hope they won’t mess up with the facelift.
Mercedes-AMG GT 73 4-door coupe
This has not even arrived in SA to be on sale and already Mercedes-AMG is making plans to make an even faster version. Let this sink in your mind, the top of the range AMG GT 63 S has 630 hp (470 kW) and 900 Nm of torque, and Mercedes-AMG still wants to make an even more powerful version. The AMG GT 73 S is reportedly said to have a hybrid powertrain system which is almost similar to the 53 AMG models and it is said to produce more than 700 hp. I have so much to ask Mercedes-AMG to see if they are insane or what. We will see if the stories of it are true or not because to some this is just a myth but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was.
