GCR Nominee #9: Jaguar E-pace

Good news everyone, there is a new Jaguar on the block. It’s the baby Jaguar E-pace. I can say that Jaguar is expanding it’s model just to boost sales but when you look at these models they introduce, they are very nice and don’t disappoint as such. With the new E-pace revealed, Jaguar can expect great feedback from customers as well and increased sales because a baby Jag is what we all need in this world.

I like the fact that the Jaguar E-pace’s design sits between the F-pace and F-type. The front headlights share the the design of the F-type and the body has been shrinked from an F-pace size. Now the E-pace and R-dynamic models are available with four specification packs: Standard, S, SE and HSE. You can choose whatever pack that floats your bubbles.

There is a choice of two petrol and three diesel engines:

  • 2.0 litre petrol with 247 bhp; 269 Ib ft of torque or 296 bhp; 295 Ib ft of torque
  • 2.0 litre diesel with 148 bhp; 280 Ib ft of torque
  • 2.0 litre diesel with 178 bhp; 317 Ib ft of torque
  • 2.0 litre diesel with 237 bhp; 369 Ib ft of torque

The Jaguar E-pace will come with all-wheel drive and a 9-speed automatic transmission as standard for all model variants. It’s good that Jaguar is entering the small SUV segment with their baby Jaguar. This completely question if whether it can compete with it’s arch rivals such as the BMW X1 and Audi Q3.

Well the Jaguar has enough space from boot space to passenger headroom or rear legroom. I can also point out that the E-pace has some tech that will win the hearts of customers who are looking for a decent small SUV that bares a very expensive badge.

The Equipment that you may get is a 12.3 inch TFT drivers display which is not standard. You also get 4G Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity, bluetooth, five USB ports and four 12-volt charging points. Jaguar is also offering an Adaptive Dynamics system on the E-pace which creates a smooth ride for the E-pace.

One other thing about the E-pace is that

it has already made a world record. Not a sales record but it has landed in the books of Guinness world record. It has done a world record barrel roll. Basically it jumped a ramp while doing a 360° barrel roll. Now that’s pretty cool for this kind of SUV.

Reason why it has been nominated?

The Jaguar E-pace is the first kind of Jaguar which is really changing the game. We like it’s design and the fact that it has a world record.
